Explanation
The composer of this song, Scott Joplin, often wrote that his music should not be played fast. But in the recording (over 100 years old!) you can hear that he certainly didn't play it slowly himself. Pay close attention to the first phrase. Move your thumb under your index finger. You can play the second phrase with many suitable fingerings. Make sure you always use the same fingering. The second phrase of the second line is the most difficult phrase of this song. With this fingering, the beginning might be difficult, but the following part of the phrase will be easy. In the last five phrases you only use a few keys. That may seem easy, but try for a perfect timing. Just listen carefully to the recording.
